Entering through a non-descript doorway into the basement level of the former Queensland Government Savings Bank, you’ll find Boom Boom Room – a swanky Japanese restaurant and bar.

The 1920s building in Brisbane’s CBD has been painstakingly restored, combining the charm of yesteryear with luxury modern detailing to create a space that patrons feel welcomed and intrigued by.

In a nod to its heritage, the original bank vault doors remain in place as the entry to private dining rooms, creating Instagram-worthy moments for guests and a truly unique experience. 

Opulence and individuality are the backbone to this design with light fixtures custom-made from musical instruments, a bespoke timber display for showcasing rare and limited-release Japanese whiskies, and specially crafted arched ceilings over the bar, with carefully designed acoustics so the bartenders can always hear the patrons’ orders without the need to shout.
